There are a few people new to EVE constantly wondering about PLEX, where to get them, how, what they are and the list goes on.
Here's a short faq to answer some of those questions
Q. What is a PLEX?
A PLEX (Pilote License Extension) is like a ingame gametime card.
Using it gives you an additional 30 days of gametime.
Q. Where do I get a PLEX?
Plex are originally created out of normal EVE online game cards.
In your options menu there's a button called 'Convert ETC' that allows you to enter a game code and convert it to plex.
A 60 day game code will give you 2x PLEX, while a 90 day game code would give you 3x PLEX and so on.
You can also buy PLEX from other players, if you have a steady income of isk you can play the game without ever paying any real life money.
Q. So I can sell PLEX that I create from game codes?
Yes, you can.
They currently sell for around 380 - 410 million isk, so its a quick way to get semi-rich.
Since you can only get you hands on 60 day time codes nowadays, you would get 2x PLEX which sell for around 800 million together.
Of course you can choose to keep one and only sell the one of them.
Update 31/07/09
I've noticed a significant drop in PLEX prices, so the estimate values written above are somewhat inaccurate at the moment.
If this persists I will update the article with more current prices.
